Welcome to Our New GLBA Officers

As Secretary, Attorney Debra D. Dewitt will be responsible for the keeping of records of the minutes and doings of the association and of the Board of Directors, and will be custodian of all corporate records. She will give notice of the Annual and Special Meetings and attend general duties of the secretary of a corporation. In the Spring 2010 election, she will also draft and mail a ballot to all GLBA members by April 15th, listing the candidates for each position on the Board of Directors.

Attorney Dewitt returns to GLBA service after a 4-year hiatus. She has previously served as co-Treasurer in 2004-2005 and as a Director-at-Large from 2002-2004. Ms. Dewitt is an attorney in private practice located in Lowell, practicing civil and criminal law.

Attorney Robert W. Normandin begins his 3-year term of service as the newest of three at-large members of the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is the general governing body of the GLBA. It has the full responsibility for the conduct and furtherance of the corporate business except for those matters specifically delegated to the President through the by-laws, or by any amendments, or by action taken at meetings of the membership, or as otherwise provided in the by-laws.

Many members already know Attorney Normandin in his role as Staff Attorney for the Middlesex Defense Attorneys, Inc., where he supervises and mentors many GLBA members who serve as Bar Advocates. Mr. Normandin is an attorney in private practice located in Lowell, practicing civil and criminal law.
